Years ago I accepted a position with a small family operated company. Every week I received my check and pay stub which indicated taxes and deductions that were paid. I received a letter one day demanding that I appear to the IRS office. Apparently my employer did not pay the taxes as required by law. Rather than going after them they harassed me for a year for the taxes due. I eventually took them to court and obviously won. They were eventually indicted and were found guilty and had to pay all back taxes. What a hassle though. Make sure your employer is not a thief either.

Make sure they are who they say they are and not someone who is trying to harm.
