    Ceratopogonidae, or biting midges

    It's a very small biting knat. We have them in N. Michigan where it's woodsy. When I was a kid, and I had itchy spots after being in the woods, my aunt said , You must have been bit by a  " No see'em "    She said the Native Americans called them  that .
