Why not? That's the average traffic speed in most states now. Not that it's the legal speed but that how  fast highway traffic runs now.

There are many places in Texas where 85 mph would seem logical to me. They should however, enforce the "move to the right if not passing rule".

@Colleen is right, people travel that speed anyhow, may as well make it legal. Not in towns however. But the long stretches of highways are just that, long.......
