      The cable running to your transmission. It needs to be replaced.

        I found it more advantageous to get a GPS and mount it on the windshield. My Garmin gives me the speed I'm traveling, the posted speed, the distance travelled, and travel directions on top of it. Sometimes it is the more practical approach, rather than sinking a bunch of money into who knows what. Something to consider at least.
