    how do you make text files compatible

     i am frustrated trying to open or print a word document and it would just put out garbage


    or error message saying 'text not compatible". Usually asked what program do you want to open this document with?

      You need a converter but I would need to know what the file is in order to tell you how to convert it to doc format.
