A pregnant dog will not go into a regular estrus cycle, but may have some very light discharge during a pregnancy. If you believe that your dog is expecting and yet there is a heavy discharge or abnormal behavior, have her examined by a veterinarian. A light discharge with a slight reddish-brown tint is an early sign of pregnancy in many dogs. Any thing more significant than that should be diagnosed. Best wishes.---PetCaretaker
