    i am trying to activate my smart card and. i don't have a nickname.

      Create an account and a nickname. This is akaQA, we do not know about the smart cards.

        Have you tried making up a nickname first and then using it to activate your smartcard?? Here is a link to an instructions page on how to activate that card, just link here>>>http://www.ehow.com/how_7578773_activate-smart-card.html
