    do service dogs have to wear service vests?

    Only when they are in service other wise they dont have to , it is mainly in public so people dont patt them ect as they have a job to do

    I checked the Federal and State regs (for ca.) and found out that it is not a requirement for service dogs to wear service vests. However, It is much easier to get around w/ the vests. Depending on where I'm going, I'll either have my dog wear his vest or I'll carry his I.D. card. I would never take my service dog anywhere w/o any identification.
