         The reasoning is different, your friend who moved maybe didn't have a choice but may keep in touch, your "friend" who lives nearby might have an unresolved problem with "you"!

          Depends on the friends and how much each one impacts my life. Some friends are just closer to me than others.

            You sure are asking a lot of depressing questions. I hate to see a friend move, my niece moved to Chicago and it has nearly killed me.  I can always call an old friend......
