Because you need to eat and enjoy life, and money doesn't grow on trees. If it did everyone would be fighting over the largest tree.

To pay your way in life!!...To survive without the tax payers paying you for doing nothing!..To keep occupied...to enjoy your time off!:-)...for self worth/self esteem!...To contribute something to society?...Where would we be if no one worked??...No one to care for your health...no retail therapy...no electricity/power...no pizza delivery!!!:-)...Need I go on!???!!!:-)

So the world will grow and be a better place for all.

It dont always work that way.

Who says you do, try living under a bridge for some time with nothing to show and no toys to play with nor no food and ask this question then..

Why not work? It will give you something to gripe about! Really work can be fun! It also helps you maintain life. As in food and shelter!

You want to eat. you want to live? you need to work like the rest of us, find a job you enjoy if you can, or keep looking while you are doing what you are, I enjoy a quality of life I would not otherwise without working.

    For self-esteem......

Because Adam and Eve have eaten the forbidden fruit...
