Diclofenac sodium belongs to a class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ( NSAIDs). Diclofenac sodium helps to reduce inflammation, pain and fever. Diclofenac sodium works by blocking the production of some of the body chemicals that cause inflammation, pain, stiffness, tenderness, swelling and increased temperature.
By reducing inflammation in conditions affecting muscles and joints Diclofenac sodium helps to improve movement.
Diclofenac sodium can take a few weeks to help improve inflammation but can start to relieve pain after the first dose.
