    My Great Grandfather, PVT. Joseph Keck USA, Was born in Alleghenny City, Pa. in 1840.

    I have my Great Grandfathers picture in his uniform AND his records of service to the UNION


    from 27th FEBRUARY 1864 until discharged 29 JANUARY 1866, City Point Va., during the civil war,  from the National Archives.  I would like to travel to Alleghenny City or Kecksburg, to search any courthouse records.  Can you tell me where and what town I am looking for and what publication will have the U. S. Histroy of Alleghenny City and/or Kecksburg??

    I find it hard to believe he's only your great grandfather.  He was born over 170 years ago and you're only his great grandson.  My mother is 85 and she has great grandchildren already.  Nonetheless, you must be proud of him, Michael.
