Goldfish are vegetarians. When adding new fish to a pond rearrange a few things and provide hiding places for the new fish so that they can acclimatize. I have never had a goldfish eat another one if the new ones are not fry. You don't normally see fry available for sale in an aquarium store.

BUT, where fry is concerned, we do have an occasional fish fry here on akaQA :)
I have been fried and cooked and saved by aliens, stuck in a bottle and seen Jasper Kola 417... This little fish's adventures do not count... they are way, way, way out of the ordinary even for a vegetarian fish.
