passive and active transport
1 Answer
In biology, diffusion is the passive movement of molecules from a region where they are found at higher concentration to a region where they are found at lower concentration.
Passive transport is a movement of molecules across cells' membranes which don’t require energy expenditure by these cells. Diffusion is a passive transport
Active transport is a process by which molecules are passed across membranes from a region where they are found in lower concentration to a region where they are found in higher concentration; such process require energy, and is enabled by carrier proteins, which are also called pumps.
