    why are shops not allowed to take any more than 20p in 2p and1p at a time

    went into aldi this morning and tried to get rid of all my change but was only allowed to give them 20p in 2p and 1p.

        Probably because they don`t want a till full o loose(LOW value)Change??!...You can always bag it up in plastic bank issued coin bags and swap it at the bank for bigger money!...It`s surprising how these coins we throw to one side actually mount up!! :-)
