    Your best alternatives for sugar or corn syrup are either raw honey, organic maple syrup, or even a little-known high antioxidant syrup called sorghum syrup (common in the southern US). Even though these alternatives still have the same amount of calories as sugar or corn syrup... honey, organic maple syrup, and sorghum syrup actually provide some nutrients and antioxidants, so it's not just empty calories.     Called Stevia. It is derived from a plant called  stevia and is 100 times sweeter than sugr and is all natural. You can buy it on the internet or in Healthfood Stores.

    Honey is quite good.

    There are a lot of good sugar substitutes. I've heard great things about agave. When it comes to me, I just do without sweets.  If I must consume sugar, I will but only in small amounts.......

    Stevia leaves. You can grow stevia - very easy to. Most other substitutes including the ones mentioned here -  are either SUGAR or may have undesired side effects.

    Try and do without it, it takes a while to get used to but once you get over it you will not want sweet things so much. Honey and Bananas have natural sweetness , nice with your morning cereals.
