    Oh...proverbs? This is NOT it then.

    Christening is associated with baptism.  Baptism is a ceremonial cleansing of a person from sin. It generally accompanies one's acceptance of Jesus as Savior, acknowledgement of one's sins and sincere prayer for forgiveness. 
    It is often said that, when one accepts Christ's sacrifice for him, his old life dies and he is reborn.  
    I believe you are asking about a lot of inferrential comments, not that a baby actually ceased breathing and his heart quit beating at his christening.
