Does anyone know the medical reason why a patient goes into the 'dormouse' position in bed

A friend of mine had this symptom and doctors were baffled for a while, I can't remember what caused it. Now my father lies in the same position in bed. He's very poorly.

I could not find any information on this subject, are you sure it is not called the fetal position ?Hopefully someone here might know of it.

A very good question and i can only think the previous answer is a clue as it is the natural way we were born from also its a simular position medical crews would lay you in after an accident whats called the recovery position.

ps. I shall pray for your father
