Belief makes perception. Astrology, Numerology, Biblical Vs News pecking is laughable not laudable. Folks used live chickens to predict horse race “winners” and to evangalize dooms day predictions. A newspaper spread on a table and a “special” chicken and a hand full of corn tossed on the table after asking the chicken the magic question or hypnotizing the chicken to peck the “true” winner. Thus outlandish predictions were often referred to as “corn”. Corney humor AQA an outlandish tale or lie. Being caught in their lie the folks who laughed on about it and seeing the fellers embarrassment by blushing the jovial onlookers would add to that by calling out “Red Neck”.
