I advised Argos of what I thought was a serious problem with my laptop and they did take it in for a check-up only to tell me there was nothing at all wrong with it and returned it. The problem I had is still there and conveniently, the warranty is not. When I then tried to contact msi for their guidance, it seems that they are not interested because I bought it through Argos.

This is akaQA, we are not connected to either company. Have a computer geek look at it and see if they can find the problem and if it is something that should have been covered under the warranty, go back to the company you bought the computer from. This may have to end up in small claims court if you do not get the results you need.
