do high frequency tones repel mosquitoes?

I have seen devices that say that they emit very high frequency tones that repel mosquitoes. Is there any truth to these claims?

Plant lots of Marigolds around your house. Mosquitos, hate the smell. Chew black licorice, and they wont bite you. Eat lots of garlic and it keeps them away.
