    IAt the death of a friend I inherited his estate on checking recently I discoved a premium bond certificate What is the procedure to have these bonds transfered over to me or paid out

    If a solicitor is handling your friend's estate he will know the procedure to cash in the Bonds or transfer them to your name. You will have to wait for probate to be granted. Premium Bonds have a very poor rate of return, about 1%, so I would sell them.

    I looked up instructions but the only ones I could find were for a P.C. I have a Mac.

    If you inherited an estate, you have an attorney, do you not?  Ask him/her.
