The meeting is about 1 1/2 hours away and it lasts for about 5 plus hours. You are getting paid by the hour and not salary when working the normal job on a normal day.       Probably a good question for your boss or supervisor. Each company has different rules they go by, some try to get away with a lot of cutting corners, hopefully you have a reputable company to work for.

        depends on your particular state. some states mandate that employees be paid for attending mandatory meetings and a minimum of 4 hrs if the meeting is less than 4 hrs. If you're management, that's another story.
