    8/9K + 10/9K         When you add fractions and the denominators are the same, you don't need to find the lowest common denominator.  In this case, the denominator is 9K.  NEVER ADD DENOMINATORS.


    Add the numerators.  8 + 10 = 18.   The answer is 18/9K
