    Diaylsis Patients

We have several self pay diaylsis patient.  Can you tell me what the guidelines/regulations are when you are treating a patient with no insurance, self pay.  Can these patient be turned to collections and can the providers continue to see the patients?

Another question diagnosis driven:  If you turn a patient to collections for say a kidney infection, or kidney cyst but if the patient is a diaylsis patient you decide not to turn them just based on diagnosis can you give me the guildelines/regulations on that as well.

    Thank you

    Tina

I can't see turning away a patient who would otherwise die.  Turn them over to collections if you must but don't expect full payment.  Treat them.............
