how to figure out 5% of 14.50

0  Views: 2205 Answers: 3 Posted: 12 years ago

To find a specific percentage of a number, multiply the number by the percentage.  Percentages are in 100ths, so 60% would be .60
As Benthere showed you, 5% is .05.   1.00 is 100%.

hm,hum,well maybe,yea i guess your right,Bob.

14.5  is divided by 100 give you 0.145

multiply that by the percent you need 5 time 0.145=0.725

Try to answer newer questions that don't already have correct answers. People get annoyed when they get e-mail alerts that their question has been answered when they've already had it answered properly weeks ago. ;)

I can appreciate that but it was a homework question and it's 25 days old. I just wanted to make you aware that we do get people who come back complaining about the e-mail alerts and wanting to know how to remove themselves from the site. We prefer for them to keep using us, rather than leave us ;)

I see colleen I am new to this and i do see what you are saying thank you
