If the other person had the right of way as you claim, then it is your sisters fault for turning in front of the other person no matter what color the light was at the time. No it was not a stale light. You need to accept responsibility for allowing your sister to drive your automobile while knowing she may not be a safe driver. Your sister needs to accept the responsibility for making a bad decision by turning in front of someone who had the right-a-way. Pay up!

Yellow doesn't mean stop or slow down. The legal terminology of a light turned yellow by law means "Proceed with caution".

So, your insurance co. believes your sister was at fault. Have her pay the deductable and fix the cars. There's no way around it- unless you can afford to fix the cars on your own.
