all sat.nav`s need the best possible position to acquire a g.p s signal ,you dont say where you try to start up but even some car windsceen`s with heat elements are not good at allowing a signal if the signal is weak to start with.its a bit of trial and error but basically start up away from all overhead problems with a strong battery and see what happens.
