    Yes they do. 


    Although you collect Social Security retirement benefits, your employer must withhold FICA taxes from your earned income. This includes 4.2 percent for Social Security in 2011 and 1.45 percent for Medicare. These taxes are in addition to and independent of any sums you pay for Medicare Part B coverage after age 65. Your employer matches these taxes, adds 2 percent in 2011, and submits payment to the Internal Revenue Service with the use of your Social Security number to give you credit for contributions.
