If you have a cough that is persistant or doesnt go away afer a short length of time..then talk to your GP or Pharmacist who can diagnose it and might be simply relieved by a cough linctus..A persistant cough can be a sign of  eg a chest infection/smoking/an allergy..or something more serious...The symptoms of a cough may be itchy throat/or a productive cough where you are coughing up sputum..ie mucous/greenish/yellow often indicates infection...if you are coughing up any blood then you should see your DR. IMMEDIATELY!!...First stop for minor coughs may be a chat with your local pharmacist!!
