Skunks bite.and they may carry rabies. If you are bitten by one you have a narrow time window in which you can/should be treated.

I have handled lizards over the years. A Skink has a pinchy bite. They do let go. A Tokay Gekko however, will not and will hang on for days... that really (place the blank here!) hurts.
I have never heard of a lizard carrying rabies. It never came up in 30 years. Now I am concerned and will have to look this up.

No need to worry Fishlet; I thought the asker misspelled the word skunk because I've never heard of skinks; I was wrong :( Read again my answer and the comments that it generated...
