How many miles on this vehicle? Is one edge fraying more than the other? Have you replaced any components(alternator, power steering pump, AC compressor)lately? Good, name-brand belt, or just the cheapest? I like Gates. Most importantly, has the tensioner(or idler) been replaced, and, visually, do the pulleys all look to be in the same plane? If one isn't, it puts more stress on one edge of the belt and statrs to scuff, then unravel.
