There are so many people who "own" animals who haven't the first clue!!! (I just read the rosepetal ans.). I think it all starts with two widely (but wrongly) held beliefs: 1) Animals do not have souls and 2) Animals can be mistreated and that is OK......I was going to be a vet- and then I decided I would need an Underground Railroad for a lot of my patients!!!!
