I am building two buildings and they require concrete footings. The footings are 8" high X 24"wide and the building is 26' wide X 40' long. The ratio of cement to grevel and sand is 1 part cement and 5 parts sand & gravel ( 1 cemnet - 2 sand & 3 gravel ). Must we also consider the fact that the cement and agregate mixture take up less area the they do beore the mix?

if you are building a structure of anytype to should by premixed bags of concrete or call in a truck if you add to little concrete or to much water the concrete will not with stand the normal elements or have the appropriate strength to support the building and mixing and pouring that amount of concrete should be done in large amounts you would typicly have five to six sacks of concrete per yard (27sq ft )
