Does a religious decision/ belief hold up in court?
I have recently gotten divorced and in the religion I was practicing it frowns upon divorce. After the divorce I met and am now in a relationship with someone who is not of the same faith, because of this it is the religions decision to disfellowship me from the organization. When the disfellowship does become final it is taught that those of the faith should not associate with those who have been disfellowshipped. Being my daughter is 19 and I do pay child support to my ex, if in fact they follow the teachings of the religion and my daughter has no association with me after the disfellowship, would that be conciderd amancipation?

I believe it would be my daughter emancipating her relationship with me.
I do not understand any religion that would discourage family ties in the name of the church, but if they choose to relinquish your parental rights, and no longer acknowledge your relationship with your daughter wouldn't it be hypocritical of them to continue to hold their hands out for your money?
