    Go to the homework site: http://www.khanacademy.org/

    2x^2+5x+3=0

    ( x + 1 ) ( 2x + 3 ) = 0

    Remember:   FOIL

    F   >   First    >    x * 2x = 2x^2

    O   >   Outer  >    x * 3  =  3x

    I     >   Inner   >   1 * 2x  =  2x

                                                 3x + 2x = 5x

    L    >   Last    >    1 * 3  =  3

    Now, finish the problem.

    ( x + 1 ) ( 2x + 3 ) = 0

    x + 1 = 0                          2x + 3 = 0

    x + 1 - 1 = 0 - 1               2x + 3 - 3 = 0 - 3

         x = -1                               2x = -3/2

                                                     x = -3/2   or  x = -1 1/2

    x = -1,  -3/2
