I'm so sorry you have the flu! The flu has been known to make people ache everywhere- Sometimes when you cough really hard- over and over all of your muscles tighten- Including in your neck...if your neck is in an odd position it can cause your muscles to tighten on a nerve(s)...this can cause shoulder and arm pain. Your shoulders tighten and so do your arms- and they stay tightened until the coughing spell is over and you relax. Sometimes keeping muscles tight (that aren't used to it) causes muscle pain. Speak to your doctor- and when you do, ask when the cough should be easing up...because pneumonia can occur.
