A resounding "YES" we did and still do.

England depended on raw materials exports.

    Anamial, mineral, or veggies  ?????????

They had a triangular route at one time . Goods , Slaves and Tobacco Africa, America Liverpool if my memory serves.

True!  In fact, The American Civil War began because the South wanted to be a seperate Union-country.  The South was supplying all, or almost all of the tobacco, cotton, and produce that was being exported and they also supplied it to the North.  The South was the $ making/ trade making part of the US.  They were sick of giving to the North and having the North receive $ and goods- because the North wasn't helping to support the economy (pre true industrialization).

My guess would certainly be "True", with all the foreign and unique indigenous plants and animals, and maybe even waters, not know to England.  Power and money in these. And yes, Matheneyg,  mineral such as iron ore and such, too!  Only a guess, though.

England colonies - America being one of them sometime in the past - of  course. Keep in mind, England was not the only colonial power.
