If I built a garage on another person's land, do they have to pay me for it? Can I sue them for payment? Can I place a lein on their property? I built it because I wanted it but have now decided to move on. Who gets the garage??

Unless you had an arrangement with the land owner, it is his. He probably could sue you for putting it there.

I would build another garage round yours, then charge YOU for storage.

    Another legal headache.

Lawyer ,Lawyer ,Lawyer !!!!! This looks like its on you ! Only agreements in writing are binding . Conversations and handshake agreements are considered hearsay ,means nothing . Possibility is to have the garage disassembled and flat bed it out when you go . I hope I am wrong and totally off base here . Only  time will tell ,but I think you bought someone else a garage . In a business rental the improvements belong to the landlord when you go.        Bill
