    If husband has a business and only his name is on the corporate paperwork, when he dies, does the business then automatically transfer to the wife as community property?

    Only a lawyer can answer this . You need to read the corporate paper work to understand the right of survivor ship . If there were partners or investors with vested interests then those interests will be spelled out   in the paper work . Why bother reading all the complicated stuff anyway? Drop it off at the lawyer and find out where you stand . Spend a little money and be done with this with proper advice and competent help.
