The earth is constantly moving eastward, so the stars appear to move westward. This is an optical illusion that is supported by Newton's 3rd Law (every action has an equal and opposite reaction).

    Because the earth is rotating......

When my wife hits me! See stars move faster than light!

in the sky? because they twinkle and from the distance it looks like they are moving. The shooting stars definitely do move, and no, they do not make your dreams come true :(. How unfortunate, and if the hollywood type they are probably not as rich as they first started out to be, so they have to move locality, and  are not able to keep up with the other Joneses because their neighbourhood has become full of the richer and more famous stars. I think land is another issue :). And with Tiger Woods, Golf Star and pro, his wife ditched his mansion, so he had to move. Many reasons really; the latter he could not see the wood for the trees :) I think the intelligentsia here can tell you the scientific reason from the web. Its back to star gazing for me.
