      Give it to them raw, not cooked as it can splinter and damage their insides.

            NO!!   Pork bones splinter easily and can cause internal damage if ingested.  Not chicken, either, for the same reason.    Beef bones are good for dogs.   Not sure about lamb  or  deer, or others. Research,  maybe.
