Would you stop a drunk person, you dont know, from driving ? Would you call the police ?

Well i did this weekend. Driving down the highway this weekend came across a driver parked on side of road. Asked if he was ok, he said yes. But i could see he was acting a little different. Had some damage on his vehicle and could tell he had been driving on side of road in the dirt. Got him walking around vehicle and took his keys out without him noticing and called police. I quickly realized  he was drunk.  Later found out he had 6 outstanding arrest warrants .

I'll tell you one last time, do not post replies as "new answers". Use the "comment this answer" attached to the post of the person you are applying to. I've had to tell you this too many times for too many months. It's not that hard to figure out.

HOw about a stab in the throat !  If you don't know the individual personally you are at risk, expecially with a drunk.  You can call the cops but stay in your car.   When a cop comes up on a stopped car he has a gun.  Also, the broke down car is a trick for a do-gooder to get robbed and/or worse.

To answer the actual question, NO, I have never had the need or opportunity to prevent someone from intoxicated driving.
I agree with the warnings that you were given about what could have happened to you.  I don't even go close to panhandlers...I don't trust ANYBODY anymore.
RE:  coolandy2000:  her name, she claimed, was Andrea.  I really hope you are telling me the truth when you say you did not encourage this person to join akaQA.  REALLY  did not care for her.   :(

No dont know who that was. I dont know what he/she did anyway.

I've not let friends drive away who had been drinking, does this count...........?

Impaired drivers are potential killers...lost my favorite thing,my father,to one of these killers on the road...so Yes,I have and will in the future prevent any impaired person from driving!

Are you sure he wasn't a homosexual like the two in the last "story" you brought us? You know, if he didn't have the warrants on him already he would have not been charged with drunk driving and would have gotten away with it. Removing him and  the keys from the car  would take away the charge of drunk driving since he was not in his car with the keys in the ignition when the police got there.

Your wrong , he was charged, arrested and sent to immigration. So yes, i would do it again. probably saved somebodys life from a bad wreck. They dont get away from drunk driving counts around here. There is nothing you can say to justify saying bad about what i did, like you are trying to do. So go on say more of your sarcastic remarks to show everybody. You know nothing about the law.

I know a lot about the law. Maybe not your state but here in CT, they would not have been able to arrest him. I still don't believe this story. But no matter, apparently you need more pats on the back and I'm sure some of the members will oblige.

I have phoned the police on customers that were drunk, left our store and drove away.  Everyone is a victim out there when someone is driving impaired.
