    I have a home equity account that I thought was closed years ago. It is still listed as open. What is the best way to get it closed?

    I called the company and the phone number they gave me won't work.

        Who says you have an open H.E. account.  There should be a source of information for this.   The account should be with a bank or agency that can carry a home mortgage.
