    not sure what you mean.


    1 1/4

    5/4 is called an "improper fraction" because the numerator is larger than the denominator.  To figure out the simplest form, divide the numerator by the denominator.  You will get 1 with a remainder of 1 (1/4, because for every 4, you have another whole 1).  1 1/4
    If you had 13/4, divide 13 by 4......3 with remainder of 1:    3 1/4.      27/4  = 6 3/4  
    Make any sense? 

    5/4 = 1 & 1/4

    5/4 = 1.25 is this simple or what?
