why? Anywhere vs nowhere. I felt that much, but I need to know why.

Nobody is going nowhere until the work is done.
Think about what you want to say differently. ...."Everybody stays here til the work is done", for example.
What "nobody is going nowhere" actually means is "everybody, or at least SOMEBODY, is going somewhere".
When you "double negative" (nobody and nowhere) you mean the opposite.
It's like saying, "I don't have no pencil." Well, if you don't have "no pencil", that must mean you DO have A pencil.
