Amerigo Vespucci was born Italian. He First sailed for Spain, then Portugal.... Why is it that in all of the paintings there is an Italian flag with the shield of the Italian Navy?
If you were going to make a poster and had to chose one flag... Which would it be????

Jenn, i have never heard of Amerigo Vespucci, so i went into google, found some interesting facts that you properly know, America was named after this exployer, on his first voyage he sailed under an italian flag in 1499, on his second voyage in 1501 he sailed under the Portuguese flag, he was the first to identify the NEW WORLD OF NTH. and SOUTH AMERICA as separate from ASIA, ( until he died, Columbus thought he had reach Asia) A bit long winded but Vespucci sailed under two different flags --- it is up to you to choose.

HE was born Italian
Sailed for both Spain and Portugal (never Italy)
All of the paintings I see are with the Italian flag...
Which seems strange.
The Sci Project is complete... The slogan she came up with was clever...
