      l have always understood that grass is a kind of medicine for dogs and they do this if they have a stomach upset.

              I see all the 'tummy upset' answers and i too believe that but a neighbor of mi his dog likes grass, eats it all the time, he took it to the vet and the vet said, if he likes it, let him eat it, won't hurt him.. But he pukes it..  Nonetheless, he's a happy dog that likes to eat grass.
