Leave a saucer of beer on the ground. The slugs crawl in, get smashed, then you can kill them with boiling water.

Doc Doolittle does not like the killing of slugs!  They are pretty creatures and have interesting lives.

Beer…they drink and swell up then slide into the brew( if deep enough) and drown. Litter the slug infested flower beds with beer cans and by morning they will all have some in the near empty cans going to recycle for a bonus in weight.

Salt, as my ma has often used, or any sort of substance that will slow them down,ie: talcum powder.

Beer is good also, but in my opinion it is a waste of amber.

I plant extra  Basil for slugs... they love it. 

At one time I heard that throwing a few copper pennies will run 'em off.. Wasn't really a good idea back then because a penny was worth a penny-- Today, penny isn't worth two cents! LOL  As a matter of fact,  giving your 'two cents worth' isn't much worth two cents either.  So we must raise our opinions to a 'nickles worth'.

With beer traps your slugs will be like the guy reccommending more drinking to cure the hangovers...
