i have pets and can't use slug pellets in my garden what can i use that is safe?

Plant extra basil and French sorrell for your slugs and train your pets to "manage" the slugs... :)

Beer is the go or table salt.

Salt fizzes them up.

Leave a saucer of beer on the ground. The slugs crawl in, get smashed, then you can kill them with boiling water.

see above and why not? They are lovely to talk too and really are pretty and if you watch them it is pretty interesting...I do not consider them useless in my garden or destructive!!!!

Beer…they drink and swell up then slide into the brew( if deep enough) and drown. Litter the slug infested flower beds with beer cans and by morning they will all have some in the near empty cans going to recycle for a bonus in weight.

Salt, as my ma has often used, or any sort of substance that will slow them down,ie: talcum powder.

Beer is good also, but in my opinion it is a waste of amber.

At one time I heard that throwing a few copper pennies will run 'em off.. Wasn't really a good idea back then because a penny was worth a penny-- Today, penny isn't worth two cents! LOL As a matter of fact, giving your 'two cents worth' isn't much worth two cents either. So we must raise our opinions to a 'nickles worth'.
