Yes something is wrong with that. I think it might be kids get out of school on MLK day. Sadly there is no JFK day. Does this make sense?

But we do have presidents day... And we are out... I think that they should talk about past presidents and their contributions if only for that one week.... They do for MLK.

I think it has to do with the fact MLK did more for his cause than did JFK. I do find it questionable that the majority of kids don't know who JFK is. On the other hand, how much do kids know about other presidents that served before they were born?

Franklin wrote declaration and had a newspaper
Adams' where the first father and son presidents
Eisenhower created the interstate system...(these are the only ones I asked about)
But she is a smart girl and retains info... I doubt other kids would. We talk about this stuff at home. That is prob why I was so shocked....

Why dont they teach chidren about past presdents in schools? They schould know about the history of our country.

The go over the precedents one time in 4th grade... Every years they have a week of information and celebration for MLK... From k-8th grade.
